I believe this article to be an exemplary piece of journalism because it talks in detail of the Syrian attacks and terrorists. It has in depth details about the ideal planning of the terrorists and she had many facts to prove her writings. Her opening line, "As deadly clashes raged on the edge of Damascus," really brings the audience in to want to read more, which is much appreciated because articles should start off with writing that makes the audience want to continue reading. Surk usues lots of believable statistics, which makes her writing seem more believable and interesting to continue reading. Along with statistics, she usues information from reports from the news to support her details. In the fifth and sixth pagragraphs, she notes what an anti-regime activists said and the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, with her unbias opinion she uses other people's specific quoting to show opinions on whats happening. Throughout the off-set of the article she uses many more quotes to prove her details and support what shes saying. This article was very intreguing and an interesting read, the topic was what originally caught my attention and the context of her opening is what really dragged me in. I enjoyed and was interested in what I read, and thats what proves a great exemplary peice of journalism.
